Pete joined the Board of Homeward Bound in 2004, and was approved as President in February, 2006. He was charged with leading the Board and other volunteers to develop affordable housing on land permanently held in trust by Homeward Bound. As a volunteer, Pete leads and directs the work of Homeward Bound in the accomplishment of its mission to develop permanently affordable housing according to its Strategic Business Plan. He helps to develop and embrace the mission, interprets its meaning, and guides the board and staff to achieve it. Since joining Homeward Bound, Pete, in addition to leading the Board/staff, was the lead staff person for obtaining the 501©3 status, and he developed the Ground Lease.

Pete has over 40 years of experience assisting low-income communities develop housing and develop economically. He has worked as staff and consultant for the Federal government, cities, counties, nonprofits and state governments. Before retirement, he established and managed an annual $1.5 million, 21 project CDBG/HOME program. His areas of emphasis included acquisition of public and private financing, program design, facilitating community interest, and general program performance.
