Board of Directors

Peter von Christierson, President:  Pete serves as President of the Board and as a
member of the Management Committee.  Pete has a master's degree in land use planning and
36 years of project experience in affordable housing and economic development.  Before
retirement in 2000, he managed the $1.5 million federal CDBG program for City of Gresham,
Oregon, most of which went to affordable housing projects.  Working with other local, state and
federal agencies, he assisted nonprofit groups develop housing projects, obtain land, seek
other funding sources, provided permit assistance, and helped to address neighborhood
concerns.

Michele Mallari-Adkisson:  Michele has worked as a loan officer for six years and is
currently the branch manager for the Sequim office of Countrywide Home Loans.  She is
passionate about homeownership for people with low to moderate income and teaches first-
time homebuyer and credit classes for the Clallam Housing Authority, Jefferson Housing
Authority and Washington State Housing Finance Commission.  Michelle also serves on the
Marketing/Fundraising and Development committees.

Brent Butler:  Brent works for Jefferson County's Long-Range Planning Division and has a
strong interest in sustainability as it relates to intergenerational equity and environmental
justice. Brent has worked for more than 10 years on protecting, restoring and developing
housing for the poor, most recently as a sustainability project manager for a Seattle-based
non-profit, Interim Community Development Association.  Prior to that Brent served as Vice
Chairperson of the First Hill Community Council in Seattle where he helped preserve more
than 400 units of affordable housing threatened by the expansion of the Washington State
Convention and Trade Center. Brent has an undergraduate degree in chemistry from Williams
College and graduate degrees in planning and environmental design from the University of
Washington and Harvard University respectively. Brent serves on the board’s
Marketing/Fundraising and Management committees.  His interests also include outdoors
activities, especially swimming and boating.

Steve Paysee:  Steve oversees the construction, maintenance, and operation of affordable
housing units for Olympic Community Action Programs (OLYCAP).  Steve is an experienced
general contractor is a member of the Development committee.

Jeff Randall:  Jeff has resided in Port Townsend since 1997 and served as Planning Director
for the city of Port Townsend from 1999 - 2005.  Jeff is dedicated to the cause of affordable
housing as a vital part of retaining healthy communities. He is also an active volunteer with Big
Brothers and Big Sisters of Jefferson County.  A little known fact about Jeff is that he is also a
licensed attorney.  In 2006 Jeff and his wife Shelly took a year long sabbatical, travelling the U.
S. and parts of Canada in their VW Westfalia camper van “Matilda.”  Upon returning to Port
Townsend Jeff has begun a new career in the renewable energy industry working as a Solar
Agent for Power Trip Energy Corp.  Jeff serves on the Community Outreach committee.

Bill Roesler:  Bill is a member of the Real Estate Professionals Affordable Housing
organization in Jefferson County.  He is the broker for Coldwell Banker, Forrest Aldrich, Inc. in
Port Ludlow.  Bill serves on the Development committee.

Mike Szatlocky:  Mike currently is employed by the City of Port Angeles in the Engineering
Department.  Mike is a registered Civil Engineer and has been active in affordable housing
matters.  Mike also serves on the board’s Development committee.
About Us
Who we are:  Homeward Bound is served by an all volunteer board.  Currently there are
seven board members.  All members of the board are dedicated to expanding affordable home
ownership opportunities on the north Olympic Peninsula and see the Community Land Trust
model as an excellent tool for accomplishing this goal.
