| Donate Money or Land Homeward Bound is a not for profit 501(c)(3) corporation and as such, all donations to Homeward Bound are tax deductable. While CLT homeowners will finance purchase of the homes, Homeward Bound will seek to acquire land for the CLT homes through fundraising and land donations. Homeward Bound also must fund raise to pay for insurance and other expenses associated with operating as a CLT. We currently have no paid staff so our overhead is quite low. The vast majority of donations will directly go to acquiring land for CLT homes. The CLT model becomes sustainable once about 200 homes exist. At that point, the land lease fees begin to cover the operating costs of most CLTs. Until that point however, we will need to fundraise. Volunteer Homeward Bound is in need of volunteers. We need individuals with interest and skills in fundraising, public relations, grant writing, real estate, finance, law (lawyers with real estate and landlord/tenant law especially appreciated!), first time homebuyer education, and construction management. We have some open seats on the board, but volunteer members at large are also greatly needed.
